As much as I love the sound of the volvo lump, and like the st as a car in general - I dont know whether its the fact they are heavy, or that they just dont deliver the power that well, but they never seem fast. A friend of ours has an RS running 390ish. It is quick but not 390ish quick. I only have my poxy vtec but he hardly left me standing.

ST wars indeed Nick please don't slag off the ST's just because YOU don't like them they are a decent car from the start when al the common faults have been sorted lol and an even better car when modified correctly and driven properly.

its because the ST's are big so they handle the speed very well, driving on the motorway you only have to look down and your doing 100mph+ and it only feels like 60!!

Put it this way there's not much out on the road that has come up against me and completely owned me, depends on how you drive too so really don't matter what your in!!

Ok the 5 pot is a lazy lump admittedly unlike a rev happy jap cars that make a lot of screechy loudness and makes it sound like your going a lot faster than you are lol

There's always haters wherever you go that's why there is so much diversity, and people will always defend what they run and have biased opinions against them, welcome to the beauty of modding and banter lol

I'm with you on that mate they should have made the mk2 foci RS a 4wd setup to deliver the power better!! As putting that kind of power down through the front wheels is inevitable that your going to loose some of it, even with its fancy diff its still not 4wd, but I love them they look so much better than a scooby or a Mitsubishi, pros and cons for owning/driving each of them none of them are perfect!!

Ive never been a fan of a particular type of car, I try everything and have already tried most things! Biggest dissapointment was my scooby wrx. Slow as f***. My astra coupe was 300bhp and was quite quick. Golf 1.8 turbo was 216bhp and was just the right amount of power for the road. The Civic is a proper driving car though. First car I have driven for a while that can proper make me smile. I used to think they were crap but I think people don't know how to drive them, you have to be on the arse end of them constantly but they are a lot of fun and considering they are only 200bhp I surprise quite a few people!

p.s. andy ....... best driver in the world ........ does that include "experience" from the brown pants after several close calls in the skyline? lol

I'm with you on the scooby front all mouth no trousers, I blew one of them into the weeds back when I was only running stage 2!! Nick (Sonicvanman) will vouch for that one

My mate years ago used to have a type r the model before the ep3 came out and that was rapid when the vect kicked in!!
